DZM installs data cables in Zeeland with the Limach E27.3

In Zeeland (Netherlands), DZM Group is actively installing data cables on behalf of Stedin. A project where not only speed and quality are important, but sustainability as well. For this project, the requirement was to work 80% emission-free. DZM therefore operates with two fully electric Limach mini excavators, supported by electric small equipment and one diesel machine.

The choice for Limach was not made lightly. DZM tested several electric machines in practice beforehand. For site manager Dawid Zwolak, the difference quickly became clear: “We initially rented two Limach machines, and they performed significantly better. That’s why we decided to purchase two ourselves.”

Although his preference was initially still with diesel, Dawid has now fully adapted to electric operation: “In practice, you hardly notice any difference in operation. It works exactly the same — only the drive is electric.” Behind him, one of his colleagues steps into the E27.3. “My colleagues are still a bit sceptical. Diesel has been around for years, so it feels familiar. But as you can see behind me, I’ll get them used to it too!”

The machines are used daily for closing and neatly finishing trenches. “From 06:00 to 16:00 we’re working continuously, and the machines easily last the entire day,” says Dawid. “At the end of the day, we bring them to our charging point and plug them in overnight. In the morning they’re fully charged and ready to go again for a full day of work.”

When asked whether he would recommend Limach, Dawid doesn’t hesitate: “If you have a project that needs to be done electrically, Limach is truly the number one in electric excavators.”

Thank you, Dawid, for your time — and good luck with the ongoing work in Zeeland!
